"Willing" art masterpost

Okay.  So.  Y'all.

Y'all.

Interstitial is amazing.  Let's start there.  And her story "Willing"?  Also amazing.  So go read it.  Poignant and dark and hot and thrilling.  The art is relatively spoilery, although the first piece only spoils the first page or so.  As with the story, the art contains suicide, death (this is a primarily afterlife story, canon-divergent from the trials, with Mark of Cain), and sex.  Take care of yourself if these images or the story are likely to harm you, but this is probably the art I'm proudest of so far in this fandom.  I'm.  I'm in love.  The story deserves the best and the author deserves even better.

So I got to really dig into some details with these, so I'd love if you'd click through to the full size to appreciate.



I posed this "by hand" so to speak, doing the bodies freehand, but did trace the outlines of their faces. (I want to get back to practicing doing it by eye but I have overbooked and I wanted these to be PERFECT.)  I was really, really pleased with Sam's positioning and slackness.  Otherwise I think I'm most proud of the blood around the drain, Dean's eyes, the blood stains on the shirt.  This was approximately eight million layers, done in Sketchbook on my new (used) iPad with my partner's (now kidnapped permanently) apple pencil.

The research for this picture did, indeed, include wholesome things like um.. tutorials on drawing blood in digital, and more.. um.. interesting things, like photos of wounds on cadavers, so I could get the colors right.  I figure if I wasn't on a list already, I must be now.

(Interstitial and I have the same favorite statue, Michelangelo's La Pieta.  You can tell, can't you?)

So, this is one of my maybe five most explicit pieces of art ever.  Normally my smutty stuff is just a slightly kinky nude here or there with the occasional full smut that.. um.. only includes only one human participant (....okay, it's tentacle porn, what can I say?), and it was a bitch trying to figure out how high Dean would have to kneel, being shorter than Sam.  And, surprise surprise, but references for blowjobs where you know the respective heights of both participants and they're approximately 6'5" and 6' even are hard to come by.  So I downloaded Daz 3D which is fussy but free for the basic stuff and I did my math and made one of them 106% of the other's size.  And wiggled them around fussily until I got a position I liked.  And then I totally traced that because hell it was a lot of work adjusting on 3 axes at a million joints, y'know? BUT, this time I adjusted their profiles by looking at references and tinkering by hand, rather than tracing refs, so.  Still a win for practice. ;)

I am proudest of the hands - all of them - and Sam's expression.  Please zoom in also for spit shine on the dick and Dean's lip, because... Idunno, because it's a tiny detail but thoughtful?

I have finally figured out more of the texture brushes in Sketchbook, if the dotted wallpaper wasn't a super obvious clue.  If you're curious about anything in particular, holla.

ETA: I'm already considering tinkering with these.  Yikes.  That didn't take long.  Also, the banner: this was a creative commons photo that I tinged more gold/orange/burnt out and cropped.  Font is called "Parchment."



I adore feedback - it's kind of a problem, actually, we're talking increasingly undeniable praise kink here, but concrit is good, too.  And go love on that gorgeous story.
