Big Bang — Before the Waning Moon

This is my first of two postings for this year's Spn-J2-BigBang! 

A dark sky background with dotted stars. Mary is depicted in line art amidst the stars at three life stages over a waxing, full, and waning moon as depicts maiden/mother/crone in some traditions. Her eyes and hearts are glowing as stars. Below is the fic title, "Before the Waning Moon."

Mary in this fic is something like the Maiden/Mother/Crone figure(s) and other tripartite goddesses, crossing time and space trying to save the universe and free will.  The fic is very much epic scifi/fantasy, so if that's your groove please go check out paleogymnast's story "Before the Waning Moon."  I loved the image this fic conjured for me so much and the final piece came out pretty close to what I'd been imagining so I was pleased!  I liked the idea of her glowing in the midst of the stars like constellations of epic mythic figures, with the classic three-moon-phases imagery below. <3

My favorite part of this is the moon surfaces — I'm way too pleased with myself for those.  This was done in digital on an iPad pro on SketchbookPro and there were A Lot of layers involved.  (And I have already been appropriately scolded for using this cursed font, don't worry, but it came out nice with the cratering imo. ;) )
